I've always preferred larger devices. They are just so much better at multitasking, the battery lasts longer, and everything is better on a bigger screen. Ever since Samsung released the Z Fold 1 back in 2019, I knew that this device was made for me.

The idea of having a normal-sized smartphone that opens up into a tablet with a large screen was straight out of a sci-fi movie, and I had to have it. The thing is, there were always compromises.

I've had every generation since then, and yes, there were slight improvements, but even though I used them extensively, there were always some factors that I just had to deal with. For me, yes, these devices were great, but for the average user, they weren't perfect, and the compromises weren't worth it compared to a flagship regular smartphone.

But finally, six generations later, I can finally say that the Z Fold 7 is a complete device and the biggest and most significant advancement since the first generation.

Samsung addressed all the factors that I wished for. Right from unboxing the device, the difference even from the Z Fold 6 is unbelievable. They finally addressed the biggest issue I had, which was that when the device was folded closed, the outside screen was always way too narrow, making it difficult to use as a normal-sized smartphone.

Now, it's wider and basically like a normal smartphone, so you can use it without needing to open it up at all.

Additionally, it is now incredibly thin - even when folded, it's the width of an iPhone, which is amazing. Seriously, you have to experience this device in your hand. I would highly recommend stopping by a store just to hold and experience this device in person; it is something special.

As someone who spends hours per day on their smartphone, whether for business, gaming, or even just a Netflix machine, this device is incredible.

There is no way that I can go back to using a traditional smartphone alone. I still use my iPhone alongside it, but I find myself reaching for the Fold 80% of the time because the versatility and offering are just unmatched.

Samsung has been making foldables for the longest time, so their software experience fully takes advantage of this device, and it is excellent.

Once you experience the convenience of opening two or three apps at a time to accomplish a task that would have required you to switch between those three apps individually, the realisation will hit you, and it is amazing.

Having an email open on one side and your banking app open on the other to make payments, having a calculator open next to a document or spreadsheet, and much more - the possibilities are endless. If you are someone serious about getting stuff done, there is no device I would recommend more.

So, for the first time in seven years, I can safely say that if you are looking for a revolutionary device that offers unbelievable function, versatility, and without any compromise, the Z Fold 7 is that device, and you will never look back.
